RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement to welcome the announcement, made at a meeting of the four countries' Environment Ministers.
"This is the first time that the four MERCOSUR members have joined forces in favor of the search for common and effective solutions to the climate change issue. The four countries share common values and interests, as evidenced by the extensive coordination within MERCOSUR's framework of regional integration," the statement said.
NEGOTIATIONS
The meeting in Glasgow is scheduled to end on Friday, November 12, although negotiations may still continue.
