Ecuador Gazettes Resolution Establishing VAT Withholding Obligations for Specific Entities

The Ecuadorian Official Gazette Aug. 10 published Resolution No. NAC-DGERCGC21-00000037, establishing the rules for withholding of 100 percent of VAT by specified entities and agencies. The resolution includes measures: 1) providing the list of entities that must act as VAT withholding agents; 2) clarifying that taxpayers should withhold 100 percent of VAT in their accounts and not transfer it to the internal revenue service; and 3) explaining the reporting procedure for declaration of withheld VAT values.
