The decline of the Philippine economy likely worsened in the second quarter of the year as a result of the lockdowns implemented in different parts of the country to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, according to Deutsche Bank.

In a report, the German lender estimated an 11-percent drop in gross domestic product (GDP) in the April-June period.
