THE Department of Finance (DoF)has secured $4.85 billion in financing packages from multilateral lenders and commercial markets as of mid-May this year to boost the government’s budget for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic response.

The amount was sourced from loans extended by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank, and the government’s issue of US dollar-denominated global bonds last month.
